FAQs

General

    • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting clay on OR bring a towel or apron to put on your lap.

    • Have short fingernails. You probably won’t want to come with a fresh mani for class either.

    • Keep your hands free from any loose or protruding jewellery (I.e: watches, bracelets, engagement rings).

Do not bring your own clay or tools. We’ve got you covered there!

  • Our term classes are tailored more towards adults, but if you have a particularly artistic and mature minor you would like to enrol please contact the Terrapotter Studios team via email.

Our introductory classes are suitable for students 8+ years, however all participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Intro Classes

  • Nope. Our behind-the-scenes studio goblins need time to trim and glaze your piece, so it’ll be ready to collect at a later date. This is to ensure that intro students get the most time possible to throw on the wheel.

If you’d like to trim and glaze yourself, you might be interested in our term classes instead.

  • You will receive an email notification when your pots are ready for collection — usually 4-6 weeks.

We would appreciate if you collect your pieces within 2 months. After this period, pots will be discarded or donated.

  • Any cancellations requested 21 days before the commencement of class will be refunded in full. If you are not able to attend your class, you may send a friend in your place.

Cancellations made with less than 21 days notice will only be refunded if the spot is filled by another student.

Our doors close 10 minutes after the starting time, students later than 10 minutes will be considered a missed class.

We do not offer replacement classes if you fail to attend your class.

Term Classes

  • You can expect your first term to cover the basic pottery processes: Throwing, Trimming and Glazing. Students will get to explore different clay bodies, and techniques, and work on developing their pottery skills.

All students progress differently, but you can learn more complex forms and techniques as you go or keep honing the basics — it’s up to you!

  • We understand sometimes life gets in the way! If you have to miss you class, please contact us and we will do our best to organise a make up class for you, however we do not guarantee make up sessions.
